MOISHE'S SIP
Chateau Marquis de Terme
Margaux Grand Cru Classé
French wine classification is anything but easy to understand, each region adopting their own rules and regulations. But one thing is always certain, when you read the words “GRAND CRU CLASSÉ,” you know you’ve got something special.
This title comes from Napolean’s request for a classification system in 1855 for ranking the best wines in Bordeaux. There have only been three minor changes to the list since then, Chateau Marquis de Terme there from the beginning.
This is one that’s going to improve with age for up to another 15+ years. At least. Yet it’s soft enough to enjoy today if you want to be special. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. A trifecta in a bottle, your ultra-premium sip this month. ENJOY!
Shiloh Secret Reserve
Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir is suchhh a persnickety grape variety. It needs lots of love and care with nearly perfect conditions to turn out even decent, let alone a masterpiece such Shiloh’s Secret Reserve Pinot Noir. Think more California-style, less French, with luscious concentrated red berry flavors and smooth, ripe tannins—no drying sensation, only grippy caresses.
Sure it can age for a few more years, but this wine is meant to drink now. And it also wants food. Try pairing with lean grilled meats. We’re thinking you should try it with an old #WineandspicE recipe: Better Than Any Restaurant BBQ-Glazed Lamb Riblets. L’chaim!
Château Fontenil Fronsac
Every once in a while we get really excited about a wine and buy it out. Decant this for a bit, take a sip, and guess what we did 🙂
The nose is an elegant whiff of chocolatey silt, jam, earth and cedar with hints of eucalyptus. The mouth shows its young age with a backbone of potential. It’s rich fruit flavors high grippy tannins and juicy acidity will allow this wine to develop in the bottle for at least another five years and hold for at least ten.
JUMP ON THIS WINE! Get it while you can! THE Yemenite Soup recipe is coming soon from #WineandspicE and will be the perfect pairing. Stay tuned!
